AERZIX replacement filter elements for the Hankison series are compatible cross-reference filter elements for Hankison compressed air filters. They are offered in five filtration grades, E1, E3, E5, E7 and E9, so a buyer can replace the element that is already fitted to the housing.
Filtration grades and materials
The elements use glass fiber and activated carbon filter media. Across the range the filtration rating is 0.01 to 3 μm and the maximum residual oil content is 0.001 to 5 ppm, depending on the grade selected.
E9 is a separation element for large liquid volumes and 3 μm particles with a maximum residual oil content of 5 ppm. E7 is an intake pipe element for liquid water, oil and 1 μm particles at 1 ppm. E5 is a high-efficiency oil removal element for 0.01 μm particles at 0.01 ppm. E3 is an ultra-high efficiency oil removal element for 0.01 μm particles at 0.001 ppm. E1 is an oil and odour removal element with an activated carbon layer for 0.01 μm filtration.
Applications
Typical applications for these elements include the metallurgical industry, powered ventilation systems and marine purification.

Features
E9 filter element
Suitable for the filtration of large liquid amounts and 3 μm particles with a maximum residual oil content of 5 ppm. Two-stage filtration: first stage, two stainless steel orifice tubes for 10 μm mechanical separation; second stage, in-depth fiber media captures solid and liquid particles to 3 μm.
E7 filter element
Suitable for the filtration of liquid water, oil and 1 μm solid particles with a maximum residual oil content of 1.0 ppm. Two-stage filtration: first stage, alternate fiber media and screen for large particles; second stage, multiple layers of bonded and blended fiber media for fine coalescence. Used before E5 filtration as pretreatment, or after a freeze dryer or adsorption dryer to further improve air quality.
E5 filter element
Suitable for removing water, oil vapor and other contaminants, with filtration of 0.01 μm or larger solid particles and a maximum residual oil content of 0.01 ppm. Two-stage filtration: first stage, multiple layers of fiber medium and strainer for large particles; second stage, multiple layers of bonding fiber medium for tiny condensates. Used before E3 filtration or an adsorption dryer as protection, or after a freeze dryer to ensure the air is free of oil.
E3 filter element
Suitable for gathering tiny water and oil mist particles and filtration of 0.01 μm or larger solid particles with a maximum residual oil content of 0.001 ppm. Two-stage filtration: first stage, pre-filtration and air diffusion; second stage, multiple layers of bonded and blended fiber media for fine coalescence. Used before E1 filtration or an adsorption dryer as protection, or after a freeze dryer to ensure air free of oil.
E1 filter element
Suitable for the removal of oil and hydrocarbon vapor adsorbed by activated carbon with a maximum filtration rating of 0.01 μm. Two-stage filtration: first stage, fine activated carbon stabilized layer suitable for most oil mist; second stage, multiple layers of fiber medium bonding micro fine activated carbon powder for removal of residual steam, providing high quality air for high demand industries such as food, air supply and sterile packaging. Used as the last stage of filtration to ensure air is free of water, dust, oil and odors.
Ordering guidance
To confirm a replacement, provide the element grade (E1 to E9) together with the size suffix, or the existing Hankison filter model it is fitted to. The full flow-rate table and the complete old-Hankison cross reference are listed above.
